NICK OPARA-NDUDU, F.C.A.
Nick is a chartered Accountant by profession, with over 22 years banking experience that covered Credit Risk Management, Marketing, Banking Operations and financial Controls, prior to his disengagement from the industry in December 2005.
Prior to his banking career, he had attended the University of Nigeria, where he read Accountancy at its Enugu Campus, graduating in 1983.
A pioneer management staff of Diamond Bank Pie, he was at various times Branch Manager; Group Head, Commercial and Consumer Banking; Group Head, Operations and Technology and Regional Manager. He retired as Deputy Managing Director of Assurance Bank Nigeria Ltd. in 2005 .
Nick has invaluable experience in banking gained over a long period, working as an operative and as a decision maker in Nigerian banks : Commercial Bank (Credit Lyonnais Nigeria) Ltd., Universal Trust Bank, Diamond Bank and Assurance Bank. He also has substantial firsthand experience in turn around schemes, business restructuring and operations process engineering. In the course of his career, Nick gained extensive project management experience, particularly at Diamond Bank where he had responsibility for opening new branches.
After his banking career, Nick went into private business with interests in real estate/property development. hospitality and tourism as well as logistics. He sits on the board of several companies including ABC Express Courier Ltd (ABEX).
He also had a foray into the public sector having served his home state of Imo between 2011 and 2014 as Chief Economic Adviser to IMSG. Commissioner for Planning & Economic Development; Works& Transport; and Internal Resources and Pension Matters at different times over the period.
